You need to have a great web hosting company in order to run a great online business and…
I have more shared hosting and dedicated web hosting servers than I can count on both hands.
And not even my web properties manager can tell me with absolute certainty how many domains or shared hosting accounts we have.
So if anyone knows about web hosting I’d say I do.
And I’d like to share my favorite web hosts with you so you can avoid some of the hassles I have over the years.
One thing, though:
No host is perfect.
But some are definitely better than others…
And the ones below are ones that we either use in our own business, or have done the research and feel they offer great service and value.
Here are a few web hosting deals I recommend you check out for yourself:
Consumer Notice: These are affiliate links. If you click them and sign up with the hosting company, I may get paid a commission.

I do not know why hostgator is on this list.
I never had so much outages as with them.
Jeff Johnson says
We’ve been using them successfully for years and years.

Jeff this is great info. only that mrs.pratt looks like someone who has been frustrated in the online game. the clear picture of “making money online” hasn’t absorbed yet in her minds. she has to read a bunch of books about IM THEN SHE WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS.
Dan Lyles says
wow. this is great stuff! looks like I’m going to be very busy for a while.
Ken Pringle says
You should consider putting your hosting in one place maybe.
Just a thought.
Success,
Ken

Hey Jeff,
Greatr to see your recommendations on hosting. I think it would also be a great plus if you would chime in on the “not so great” hosting services out there as well…
By the way, I just came across GVO hosting. Have you ever had any experience with them. I don’t see any reliability information on their site and that kindof puts up a red flag for me….
Jeff Johnson says
GVO just changed their name from something else.
I have had a hosting account with them for years.
But they just went network marketing and I do NOT participate in network marketing deals so I don’t recommend them.
But from a pure hostint standpoing they’ve been reliable.
Mrs. Pratt says
Jeff,
What you DO NOT say to these people is:
– There is no money to make with a website on the internet!
– The ONLY way to make money with a website is to sell INFO like you and your GANG of affiliates do!
– That you make money selling information and a bunch of trashy CJ and ClickBank software products!
– That all of your courses are directed at YOU making money not others! For some of your course and seminar goers it will take them 5 to 10 years to recoup what they paid you and the GANG!
Of course you will claim that you offer valuable INFORMATION great!
Jeff Johnson says
That’s not even close to the truth.
But my guess is you are so jaded there’s nothing I can do to change your mind.
So I’m not even going try.
John says
That is BS. Jeff’s programs and advise not only help online marketers; many local companies can benefit by using his teachings.
Google is dominating local businesses, why wouldn’t a company not want to be ranked high.
Business is not for everyone, but better to spend a couple thousand dollars figuring that out than investing heavily in a traditional business.
Emiel ten Hoor says
I’ve done three big trainings in the past years: traffic voodoo 2, main street marketing machines and link liberation 2.
You can be sure that these programs, like Jeffs, cost money, since they are extremely valuable. And helped me build my online business.
Ozcan says
Hi Jeff,
This is kind of urgent. (As I want to fire my business right away)
I live in Turkey so where to register the domains and where to buy hosting? Should I use American hosting firms I mean.
Jeff Johnson says
That depends on where you want to do your business, and whether or not the domains you are registering will be globally recognized TLDs that rank well in the country you are doing business in.
.com is always a safe bet for U.S. and a U.S. based hosting won’t hurt.

Hey Jeff,
How do I install a blog on hosting that does not support CPANEL, is this possible (re; ftp fantastico?) any instructions?
Thanks,
